Growing Grounded
A place to learn, explore, and grow alongside your plants.
Here I’ll share plant-care tips, gardening lessons, things I’m learning, seasonal advice, and observations from my own garden. My hope is to help you better understand the plants growing in your home and garden.

How Saving Tomato Seeds Started My Gardening Journey
A simple experiment with my husband and some tomato seeds became the beginning of my love for gardening.

What are your Plants Trying to tell you?
Plants may not speak, but they communicate through their leaves, soil, growth, and overall appearance.
Making Room for the Garden’s Smallest Visitors
A garden can provide food and shelter for insects and other forms of life. Here’s why I love seeing them become part of the garden.

Need Help With Your Plants?
Sometimes a plant just needs someone to take a closer look.
If you’re not sure what your plants are trying to tell you, I’d be happy to take a look at your space and help you understand what they need.
Gardening is always teaching me something new.
Sometimes it’s a successful harvest.
Sometimes it’s a plant that needs a little extra attention.
Sometimes it’s simply sitting in the garden and noticing the life happening around me.
I believe there is always more to learn, and I hope sharing what I discover can help you feel a little more connected to your own plants.

FAQs
What areas do you serve?
Sweetpea Growing Grounded serves homeowners in Woodbury, Minnesota, and the surrounding area. If you’re nearby and aren’t sure if I serve your location, feel free to reach out and ask.
What types of plant care do you provide?
I provide both indoor and outdoor plant care, including plant maintenance, garden care, consultations, plant selection, and help understanding what your plants need.
I offer both one-time visits and recurring maintenance, depending on what works best for you and your plants.
Do you provide general weeding?
No. General weeding is not part of my services. My focus is on caring for plants, gardens, and the environment they grow in.
Can you help me choose plants?
Absolutely. Choosing the right plant isn’t just about finding something you like. I look at the environment, available sunlight, soil, growing conditions, and the needs of the plants so we can find options that have a good chance of thriving in your space.
Do you use pesticides?
My approach is pesticide-free and focused on natural plant care. I want to work with nature rather than automatically treating every insect or problem as something that needs to be eliminated.
I pay attention to the plants, soil, insects, and surrounding environment when deciding what kind of care is appropriate.
What if my plant is sick or isn’t doing well?
That’s something I can help you investigate. Plants often give us clues about what they need. Drooping, yellowing, changes in growth, soil conditions, light, watering, and the surrounding environment can all tell us something.
Rather than immediately treating a problem, I take time to observe the plant and understand what’s happening.
Can you tell me exactly what is wrong with my plant?
Sometimes the signs a plant gives us point fairly clearly toward a problem, but plants can be affected by many different factors.
I don’t want to simply guess. My approach is to observe the plant and its environment and use those clues to understand what may be happening.
How do I get started?
The easiest place to start is with a consultation. We can talk about your plants, your garden, and what you’re hoping to accomplish.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before we talk.
Let’s help your plants grow grounded.
